- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which informs about the dynamics of microbial community in the mosquito's mid gut and its role in disease transmission. It mentions that 454 pyrosequencing, which is a parallel sequencing technique, is used to study the microbial community structure of wild and lab-reared Kenyan mosquito strain during its life cycle. It reflects that there is a significant difference between the microbial communities of lab-reared and natural populations of Anopheles gambiae. INSET: 454 Pyrosequencing.
