- Title
Improving our understanding of male urethral cancer.
- Authors
Porter, Michael P.
- Abstract
The author explains that in the June 2011 issue of "Cancer," Rabbani uses Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) data to understand the clinical characteristics and outcomes of male patients with urethral cancer. Its most common histologic subtype is said to be transitional cell carcinoma, followed by squamous and adenocarcinoma. The author concludes that population-based tumor registries, such as SEER which is maintained by the National Cancer Institute, are useful for studying rare tumors.
