- Abstract
The article discusses a study on different ecological hazard-assessment methodologies for aquatic systems. For the study, various countries conducted assessments on five chemicals with various chemical properties for which sufficient high-quality ecotoxicological information was available. Researchers found that one of the most vital factors influencing the derived predicted no-effect concentrations (PNECs) was individual decisions involving whether the data was acute or chronic.
