- Title
Causes and Extent of Declines among Native North American Invertebrate Pollinators: Detection, Evidence, and Consequences.
- Authors
Cane, James H.; Tepedino, Vincent J.
- Abstract
The article highlights the studies by researchers presented at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) workshop in Santa Barbara, California which evaluated whether there is evidence to support the claim regarding declines among invertebrate pollinators in North America. Participants explored the evidence for, and the likelihood of detecting invertebrate pollinator declines. Three papers considered the level of the spatial and temporal turnover of undisturbed natural populations and communities of bees. The issues of global change as they affect invertebrate floral visitors of North America are also examined.
