Scottish university launches major Tibet history project.
- Abstract
The article reports that St. Andrews University has launched a 10-year research project in more that six centuries of Tibet's history which is led by professor Mario Aguilar. He said that the research will explore the close relationship between politics and religion in Tibet between 1391 and the modern time. The project includes the study of ancient Tibetan Buddhist texts, Jesuit narratives of missions to Tibet and collections of lectures, writings and speeches by the Dalai Lama.
