- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a patient with Parkinson's disease who experienced deterioration in writing ability, known as micrographia, following subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) surgery, despite improvement in other motor symptoms. The study highlights the dynamic association between STN-DBS activation and micrographia, suggesting potential mechanisms beyond traditional hypokinetic effects, and discusses the anatomical and functional considerations of STN-DBS.
