- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 72-year-old man who was referred by his family physician to the emergency department after the follow-up of hypertension and reporting fatigue and generalized weakness. The medical history of the patient includes type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease and peptic ulcer disease. His medications include acetylsalicylic acid, ramipril and metformin. Electrocardiography revealed that an urgent treatment of hyperkalemia was required for the patient.
