Discussion of Theme 4.
- Abstract
The article discusses the psychological and social impacts of multiple gestation and birth. It notes that women commonly depict preoccupying worries on their ability to adapt to caring for multiple infants as the diagnosis of spontaneous multiple gestation is described as overwhelming. Also, it mentions that the emotional health of mothers with multiple infants is poorer, making them at a higher risk of manifesting depression, anxiety and exhaustion after childbirth.
