- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examines the genetic absence epilepsy rats from Strasbourg (GAERS) and non-epileptic Wistar rats to identify possible alterations due to the recurrent seizures. Topics include the sensory information that might be processed by the somatosensory cortex in a different way and the structural differences in the cortical interneuron which provide a background on the other neurophysiological impairments that are more prone to occur.
