- Abstract
The article "Police contacts in everyday life in residential care - no pedagogically relevant situations? Research notes from an exploratory study" examines the influence of police contacts on the daily lives of young people in residential care. It is found that such contacts occur frequently and are initiated by various actors. However, it is doubted that there is a connection between these contacts and increased criminality. The study also shows that the subjective perception and processing of these contacts are hardly researched. It is emphasized that the police experiences of young people in residential care are hardly addressed in current debates. Another study examines the relationship between police contact and future-oriented behavior from adolescence to young adulthood. It is found that more frequent police contact in adolescence is associated with a lower future-oriented attitude in young adulthood. The study provides important insights for criminology and demonstrates the long-term effects of police contact on individual future perspectives.
