- Abstract
The relationships between school belonging (SB), parental involvement (PI), and educational/vocational outcomes for adolescents are supported by previous research. Less is known about how these contextual factors influence vocational expectations. Authors of the present study tested models that examined the relationships between PI, SB, personal control (PC), and vocational hope (VH) in an ethnically diverse sample of adolescents. Results showed that SB had a direct effect on VH, while the relationship between PI and VH was mediated by PC.
