- Abstract
This letter is a response to a study that investigated the relationship between chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The authors of the letter argue that the study did not consider the differences between GERD, laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), and nasopharyngeal reflux (NPR), which may have led to biases in the analysis. They suggest that future studies should use more accurate diagnostic criteria and consider the presence of LPR and NPR in order to better understand the association between reflux and CRS. The letter was written by Antonino Maniaci, Luigi A. Vaira, Giovanni Cammaroto, Valentin Favier, and Jerome R. Lechien.
