- Abstract
The article focuses on the nanosecond volumetric discharges formed in a nonuniform electric field operating at elevated pressures. An experimental investigation of avalanche-electron-beam-initiated volumetric discharge (AEBIVD) characteristics in heavy inert gases, nitrogen, and air at a given pressure is presented. The experimental design and the process are discussed, as well as the results obtained from the study which were supported by photographs.
