- Abstract
Chromatographic media are considered as the core of chromatography and developing high-performance chromatographic media is one of the important means to improve chromatographic performances.Cellulose microspheres, as one of the common chromatography media, are widely used in bioseparation field because of their abundant hydroxyl groups for easy modification and weak non-specific adsorption.In this review, we briefly introduce the preparation strategies of cellulose microspheres and discuss the morphology difference of the corresponding cellulose microsphere.In addition,we address two strategies for high-performance cellulose microsphere as chromatography media, including pore structure control and polymer modification. Finally,on the basis of the current researches, we indicate prospect for the preparation of high-performance cellulose microspheres in the chromatography field.
