- Abstract
The Yishu fault zone, also known as the Shandong segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone, is part of the middle segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone and is a large NNE striking (N10°-25°E) fault zone (Fig. In general, the intensity of seismic activity in the study area is characterized as strong within the Yishu fault zone, weaker in the west side of the fault zone and the weakest in the east side of the fault zone. Based on these findings, we can believe that the difference in stress directions is likely to be related to the geometric shape of the Yishu fault zone and the fault zone's development and evolution. The difference in the dominant stress directions between the west and east sides of the Yishu fault zone strongly support the present tectonic activity characteristics of the fault zone. Therefore, analyzing the dominant orientation characteristics of the tectonic stress field around the Yishu fault zone by considering the fault zone to be a dividing line may be more reasonable.
