- Abstract
The article presents a discussion about a 30-month-old boy with developmental regression and hepatosplenomegaly. In this discussion, Timothy Sentongo, a pediatric gastroenterologist, provided a definition of celiac disease in relation to the case of the boy. Meanwhile, Kent Kelley, a pediatric neurologist, stressed that the child has a progressive encephalopathy leading to developmental regression. However, pediatric neuroradiologist Delilah Burrowes said that the magnetic resonance imaging scan of the child showed moderately dilated ventricles and prominent cortical sulci, indicating volume loss.
