- Abstract
This article presents the findings of a retrospective analysis of prenatal ultrasound reports in the South France region for newborns and children diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD) postnatally. The study aimed to assess the quality of the ultrasound images and their relationship to the type of heart disease. The analysis revealed that while the intrinsic image quality was satisfactory, the quality of obtaining anatomical landmarks was suboptimal. Additionally, 15% of CHDs could have been identified through better image quality. The study highlights the importance of improving the quality of prenatal ultrasound for the early detection of CHD.
