The article presents a pilot interview study of individuals who had undergone highly invasive early-phase first-in-human gene transfer experiment to develop a treatment for Parkinson disease. It mentions that the study aims to determine the subjects' statements of motivation, provide an understanding of the study's benefit and risks, and explain how it conforms with the study's goals. Results and findings of the study are further discussed.
