- Abstract
The article discusses the logic behind the medical diagnostic decision-making process used by physicians. It demonstrates the use of a graphical calculator called a nomogram to calculate posttest probability of diseases. It mentions how to design an optimum test protocol that involves multiple tests which can include questions related to patient's pretest probability of having a disease and the power of the test to be administered.
