- Abstract
This work presents a single‐layer millimeter‐wave wide‐band high‐efficiency reflectarray antenna with the subwavelength element based on the partial‐optimization method. A three‐loop subwavelength element with the unchanged parasitic outer‐ring is used to guarantee the design accuracy and depress the dispersion influence. Then, the partition‐optimization method is used to restructure the element phase‐response characteristic. The proposed design method is beneficial to expand the reflectarray antenna bandwidth and achieve the high efficiency, especially for the large‐aperture reflectarray antenna. A center‐fed reflectarray antenna is designed and fabricated at the center frequency of 34 GHz. The measured gain of the proposed reflectarray antenna is 35.4 dBi with the 1 dB gain bandwidth of 20.3%, that is, from 32.3 GHz to 39.2 GHz. The proposed reflectarray antenna can keep the stable radiation pattern for a multi‐band wireless backhaul system.
