- Abstract
O Doppler tecidual é útil no diagnóstico de disfunção diastólica e pode auxiliar na compreensão das alterações decorrentes do treinamento. O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar a velocidade de movimentação de determinadas áreas do miocárdio de cavalos jovens e adultos. Foram usados 4 equinos Puro Sangue Árabe, com idade de 2,10 ± 0,08 anos e sem treinamento, e 4 cavalos de 13,5 ± 1,73 anos, destreinados há dois anos, sendo dois machos e duas fêmeas em cada grupo. A ecocardiografia foi realizada com os equinos em repouso e contidos em tronco. Após a tricotomia e aplicação de gel de contato, as imagens foram obtidas com ultrassom (MyLab Alpha) e probe setorial (1-4 MHz). Utilizou-se o quarto e o terceiro espaço intercostal das janelas esquerda e direita, respectivamente, para a obtenção das imagens do eixo curto em modo-B, a fim de guiar a amostra para o Doppler tecidual pulsátil. Realizou-se Doppler tecidual de duas regiões, a esquerda e a caudal do ventrículo esquerdo (EVE e CVE) pela janela esquerda, e duas pela janela direita, as do ventrículo direito e septo interventricular (VD e SIV). Para a determinação das velocidades máximas, calculou-se a média de três ciclos cardíacos no início da diástole (onda E), na sístole atrial (onda A) e ventricular (S). Os picos de velocidade foram comparados entre os grupos pela ANOVA ao nível de 5% de significância. As velocidades (m/s) da onda E foram: EVE (potros: 0,13 ± 0,02; adultos: 0,14 ± 0,03), CVE (potros: -0,15 ± 0,06; adultos: -0,18 ± 0,05), VD (potros: 0,11 ± 0,01; adultos: 0,11 ± 0,01), SIV (potros: 0,15 ± 0,03; adultos: 0,20 ± 0,06). Os picos da onda A foram: EVE (potros: 0,08 ± 0,02; adultos: 0,09 ± 0,02), CVE (potros: 0,04 ± 0,02; adultos: 0,09 ± 0,02), VD (potros: 0,06 ± 0,01; adultos: 0,08 ± 0,02) e SIV (potros: 0,06 ± 0,01; adultos: 0,07 ± 0,02). As seguintes velocidades de onda S foram observadas: EVE (potros: -0,07 ± 0,01; adultos: -0,08 ± 0,02), CVE (potros: 0,08 ± 0,02; adultos: 0,08 ± 0,01), VD (potros: -0,06 ± 0,01; adultos: -0,07 ± 0,01) e SIV (potros: -0,06 ± 0,02; adultos: - 0,04 ± 0,08). Ao contrário do esperado, não constatou-se diferença (p > 0,05) entre as velocidades das quatro regiões entre os grupos, uma vez que o coração dos potros ainda está em desenvolvimento. Além disso, os cavalos adultos avaliados foram treinados por diversas vezes ao longo da vida, o que leva à hipertrofia cardíaca. Porém, sabe-se que as alterações na musculatura e na função cardíaca, decorrentes do treinamento, regridem no destreinamento, o que possivelmente explica a ausência de diferença. Ademais, o número de equinos avaliados foi pequeno, sendo necessárias pesquisas com número maior de animais, assim como de cavalos em treinamento. Os estudos que avaliam o padrão de contratilidade de cavalos atletas são de suma importância, uma vez que são empregados diferentes métodos de treinamento, os quais influenciam na função cardíaca, podendo interferir no desempenho atlético.
