- Abstract
The bicarbonate-activated hydrogen peroxide (BAP) system has attracted more and more attention due to its out-standing degradation performance in a wide pH range, higher stability and nearly no new contamination introduced during treatment. This article reviews the generation and main identification methods of reactive species in BAP system,analyzes the reaction characteristics, mechanism of degradation and environmental impact factors of BAP system to pollutants. The application environmental conditions, advantages and application scenarios of BAP compared with other major advanced oxidation technologies are summarized, and the future research direction and application potential of BAP system are discussed. It is expected to provide theoretical support for the application of BAP in the field of natural water restoration and water treatment.
