- Abstract
TiO2 was prepared by the precipitation-peptization method, and titanium sulfate was used as titanium source, ammonia as precipitant and hydrogen peroxide as complexing agent. Besides, BiOI was prepared and coupled with TiO2 by the ultrasonic precipitation method to obtain adsorption-photocatalysis integrated BiOI / TiO2 composites. The adsorption and photocatalytic performances of BiOI/TiO2 composites were studied with Rhodamine B as the target organic pollutant. Consequently, BiOI was successfully coupled with TiO2, and BiOI/TiO2 composites showed a certain behavior of adsorption ability and an excellent photocatalytic degradation performance. When the BiOI/TiO2 (mass rotio of 27%) was irradiated with 600 W metal halide lamp for 25 min, its Rhodamine B degradation rate could reach up to 92.71%, a remarkable upgrade compared with that of sole TiO2. On the other hand, after TiO2 being coupled with BiOI, it was found there was no evident change of crystallinity and grain size of TiO2, while the light absorption band edge showed a certain red shift, which promoted the effective separation of photogenerated electrons and holes at the heterogeneous interface, so as to improve the photocatalytic performance.
