- Title
Picasso's Collages and the Force of Cubism.
- Authors
Altieri, Charles
- Abstract
The author discusses how modernism in painting and poetry has lost its original intent and become an academic subject. It addresses the gap between the way artist Pablo Picasso was seen by his critics and the ways he is now routinely adapted into biographical frameworks. It explores artist Max Raphael's description of Picasso's rejection of impressionism for constructivist acts of pure creation, as well as notes the lack of trust in Picasso's early critics.
