- Abstract
Calcium magnesium silicate has been linked to increased phosphorus, increased pH and increased availability of exchangeable soil calcium and magnesium, among other benefits. The objective of evaluate the influence of different dosages of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 on the availability of soluble P present in a clayey soil cultivated with corn. The experiment was carried out in DBC, with 5 different doses of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 ha-1 in the cultivation of corn: 0; 100; 200; 300 e 400 kg ha-1. The performance of the culture to the treatments was evaluated through the P content and the height in the plant, the weight of 1000 grains and productivity. The highest P content in the plant was from the treatment with 200 kg of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 ha-1 (2.5 g P kg-1 dry mass), not differing from the higher treatments. Dosages of 300 and 400 kg of de CaSiO3 e MgSiO3 ha-1 resulted in the highest productivity of 5305 and 5656 kg ha-1, respectively. The application of CaSiO3 and MgSiO3 has shown to potentiate the agronomic characteristics of corn, mainly the phosphorus content in the plant and productivity, which had a significant increase in their values.
