- Abstract
Mexico is currently considered the most important country of emigrants in the world and, on the other hand, the United States the main country of immigrants. Its geographical position on the northern border makes it an attractive country for migratory flows from Central American countries. However, a number of factors, including the international financial crisis, violence and crime, increased poverty, social inequalities, war and climate change in recent years have affected regional economies and, consequently, Political and economic conditions that regulate the passage of people between the southern and northern borders. This problem has even intensified in recent years and threatens to become a major social and political problem among the countries of these borders. This study aims to study the problems related to social aspects caused by the migration of people on the southern border of Mexico and Guatemala. As well as analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of this phenomenon for our country, identify the new aspects of migration and propose alternatives to regulate the illegal passage of Central American migrants in this border. The methodology used is mixed mainly of qualitative type, consists of direct interviews to the migrants in this border using the technique known as "snowball" to analyze the social aspects of the migration.
