- Title
What is a relevant contact allergy?
- Authors
Bruze, Magnus
- Abstract
Establishing allergic contact dermatitis involves a process with two major steps, demonstration of contact allergy and assessment of clinical relevance. The article deals only with the assessment of clinical relevance, starting with the premise that the demonstrated positive patch test reaction represents contact allergy and not a false positive reaction. The purpose of the presentation is to indicate difficulties and pitfalls in this assessment of clinical relevance based on the author's own experience.
