- Abstract
Isotretinoin, a commonly used treatment for acne, has been associated with potential neuropsychiatric side effects, including mood changes. This article presents three cases of patients who experienced disturbing and vivid dreams while taking isotretinoin. The symptoms resolved in one patient after low-dose vitamin A supplementation, while another patient saw improvement after reducing the isotretinoin dose. The third patient's symptoms persisted until completing the isotretinoin course. Although more research is needed, these cases suggest a potential causal relationship between isotretinoin and vivid dreams. The article also discusses possible mechanisms and management strategies for this side effect.
