- Abstract
The article highlights the life of French flower painter Antoine Berjon and discusses his oil on canvas painting "Still Life With Flowers, Shells, a Shark's Head, and Petrifications," which serves as the cover art for this issue. Berjon was a professor of flower design at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, France. While he was considered the finest silk designer in Lyon, Berjon was fired from art academy due to his temperament. From then on, Berjon gave private lessons in his own studio. It is remarked that Berjon adapted his painting "Still Life With Flowers, Shells, a Shark's Head, and Petrifications" to his period of the Enlightenment.
