- Abstract
The article explains the need to improve the mental health service system in Australia. The authors highlight the prevalence of mental disorders in the country and the challenge about the quality of available treatments. They encourage the development of effective interventions in order to reduce the burden of mental disorders. In addition, the article identifies several policy instruments that can be used by the government to improve the system, including standards, licensing and regulation.
