- Title
ECOTOXICOLOGY OF ANTICHOLINESTERASE PESTICIDES: DATA GAPS AND RESEARCH CHALLENGES.
- Authors
Scholz, Nathaniel L.; Hopkins, William A.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the assessment of risk and toxicological response of organophosphate and carbamate insecticides to nontarget organisms and ecological systems. They claim that in the context of exposure, it often can be prohibitively expensive to monitor intensively the environmental concentrations of pesticides across broad spatial and temporal scales. They explain that in the context of toxicological response, a long-standing challenge has been to measure meaningful biological outcomes in response to environmentally realistic exposures.
