- Title

- Authors
Backman, Helena; Ekström, Magnus
- Abstract
The article focuses on the 2023 change in ATS recommendations concerning the use of race and ethnicity in pulmonary function test evaluation, shifting from race/ethnicity-specific Global Lung Function Initiative (GLI) reference values to the GLI Global reference equations. Topics include concerns about the potential compounding of race-related disparities and racism in lung function interpretation, as well as the need for further research to understand the impact of the GLI Global reference.
