- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 21-year-old man with tuberculosis and intermittent hemoptysis. Examinations showed chronic left upper lobe (LUL) collapse with left tower lobe hyperinflation, and a low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC). He was diagnosed as having posttuberculosis changes with chronic lung collapse versus endobronchial carcinoid tumor. The patient underwent a left upper lobectomy, muscle-sparing thoracotomy and sleeve airway reconstruction.
