- Abstract
The prevalence of haemophilia is not affected by race, ethnicity and socio-economics.1 However, its natural history is influenced by these factors, particularly the latter. Eighty per cent of Nepal's haemophilia patients are physically disabled.5 Patients are treated on demand, and only 2 patients are receiving prophylaxis treatment. Furthermore, the risk of postoperative joint infection is increased.8 However, it does not mean surgeries like knee replacement surgery and hip replacement surgeries, which are known to improve quality of life in haemophilia patients that should not be offered in LMIC.
