- Abstract
The article discusses a study conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which investigated the nature and frequency of occupational exposures to antimicrobial pesticides in health care settings. Data from pesticide poisoning surveillance programs in several states, including California, Louisiana and Michigan, were analyzed by the CDC. The findings of the study which identified 401 cases of work-related illness are discussed and a CDC editorial note on the study is presented. INSET: What is already known on this topic?.
