- Abstract
This article discusses a study which examined the surface properties of organic-inorganic hybrid coatings. The study used the sol-gel process in preparing the coatings. It performed either conventional oven heating or micro-wave irradiation in the consolidation process. It obtained high conversion degrees with both treatments. It also revealed an improvement in scratch, yellowing and photodegradation resistance for coated polycarbonate.
