- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the bacterial taxon present in aphids or in whitefly through terminal-restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) analysis. It showed that seven different bacterial species were identified. The study concludes that T-RFLP technique has major implications for population studies, as it offers a straightforward means of determining the precise species composition of the bacterial community present in any individual insect of a population.
