- Abstract
The article presents research on the blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability in human using enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It relates that the breakdown of BBB is difficult to measure using noninvasive procedures in humans. It tells that dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI measures BBB permeability though technical challenges still remain. It reports the implementation of a method for measuring BBB permeability in animals to estimate BBB permeability in both healthy subjects and patients with white matter pathology.
