- Title
Cotinine Conundrum—A Step Forward but Questions Remain.
- Authors
Spitz, Margaret R.; Amos, Christopher I.; Bierut, Laura J.; Caporaso, Neil E.
- Abstract
The authors comment on a study, led by M. R. Munafò, which presents evidence that genetic variations at chromosome 15q25 locus influences cotinine levels more strongly than smoking quantity. They note that study findings favor the interpretation that the association with lung cancer is mediated by smoking. However, they say that it failed to determine the degree to which the association is mediated.
