- Abstract
The article discusses the downy mildew caused by Hyaloperonospora parasitica on broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) in Jeju, Korea. It mentions that downy mildew is a great risk in loosing 100% of crop yield. The initial symptoms of the plant virus includes an irregular yellow-green spots on upper leaf surfaces and white fluffy growth underneath. Floral heads developed pale brown or greyish discoloration. Systemic infections caused internal dark grey spots and steak in stems and floret branches. It entails that the internal symptons were only found in broccoli and cauliflower. Several tests were done on the samples deposited in the herbarium of Korea University.
