- Abstract
The article discusses palliative care has under-resourced and there have not enough specialists to consistently meet the needs of patients suffering from serious illness. Topics include palliative care has an integral component of care in the intensive care unit (ICU), as the ICU has designed for patients with life-threatening illnesses; and palliative care have been magnified by the COVID-19 pandemic with the hospitalization of hundreds of thousands of patients with COVID-19.
