- Abstract
In this article, the author reflects upon physical examinations in healthcare. Particular focus is given to how many healthcare providers are concerned that bedside physical examinations have been abandoned in favor of laboratory tests and imaging. Additional topics discussed include the depersonalization of medical care in the 21st century, the benefits of taking vital signs and insights on the topic from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
