- Abstract
The article discusses the findings of a study which investigated the transfer and distribution of radionuclide tissues from radiation-contaminated livestock feed. It notes that the 2011 nuclear accident in Fukushima, Japan necessitated research of radiocesium distribution in tissues of beef cattle in order to ensure the safety of meat. The experiment confirmed that levels of radioactive Cesium were highest in the kidneys and lowest in subcutaneous adipose tissue of contaminated cattle.
