- Abstract
This study is an attempt to describe the motion of a water flow through a mixed bed of a hydrophobic catalyst and a hydrophilic packing by the random-walk method. It is theoretically predicted by using the developed program "Column" and experimentally confirmed that, to maintain a "film" pattern of water flow through a mixed bed, the ultimate content of the hydrophobic catalyst in it must not exceed 20–25 vol %.
