- Abstract
The Media and the Environment Scholarly Interest Group (SIG) was established in 2014 with the goal of connecting scholars from various subfields who are interested in the intersection of media and the environment. The SIG takes an interdisciplinary approach, examining topics such as environmental policies, the representation of climate on-screen, and the ecological impacts of media consumption. The group also explores the environmental implications of media production technologies and aims to develop greener practices within academia. The SIG offers mentorship programs, sponsors book launches, and hosts workshops to support its members and promote new scholarship in the field.
