- Abstract
The success of care to a victim of cardiopulmonary arrest is determined by early recognition of the absence of vital signs and the prompt institution of basic and advanced support of life. Objective: identify the conduct and training of professional nursing cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an emergency. Method: Field research, descriptive quantitative approach. He applied questionnaire with ten items about cardiopulmonary resuscitation to nurses working in the emergency room of the Municipal Hospital Souza Aguiar, and quantified the errors and correct answers on each question and the data were analyzed by statistical tests. Results: The training of nurses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a performance is unsatisfactory, as only 40.7% had an overall percentage of correct answers. Conclusion: Continuing education programs are essential to the nursing staff can keep up to date regarding new knowledge and protocols.
