- Abstract
An overview of the posterior urethral valves (PUV) patient is presented. Prenatal predictors, early surgical management, bladder dysfunction, and renal impairment are discussed. The article also presents the case of a male patient with antenatal findings of bilateral hydro-ureteronephrosis, a thickened bladder, and oligohydramnios and postnatal respiratory failure as a result of pulmonary hypoplasia who underwent a vesicostomy, bilateral ureteral reimplantations, bladder augmentation, and transplant nephrology.
