- Abstract
BACKGROUND: Lymphangiomas are congenital malformations that frequently affect head and neck. The majority are diagnosed within the first two decades of life and the most common symptom is the presence of a mass in the head or neck. Lymphangiomas of the tonsils are yet rarer and can be asymptomatic, or according to the size and extension of the lesion, they can present dysphagia, sore throat, bleeding or cough. CLINICAL CASE: A 27-year-old female patient with a lymphangioma of the left tonsil, debuting with shortness of breath and stridor. CONCLUSIONS: This disease is established as an entity located in the upper airway more than just a histopathological finding.
