- Authors
Adams, Emily J.; Parlakian, Rebecca
- Abstract
The article discusses the significance of supportive transitions for toddlers and infants. It states that establishing a trust relationship between a young child and teacher demands time. It notes that families and caregivers can help very young children through a sensitive response during transitions and planning can lessen the negative effect. Moreover, the steps to consider in the transition will include an opportunity for the child's new teacher to meet the family and child, prepare a meeting with the new teacher, and creation of good-bye books.
