- Abstract
This study, which was conducted in 2015-2016, was carried out in order to determine the propagation performance in in vitro conditions of 3 cherries and 3 sour cherries with Gisela 6 rootstocks which could be the rootstock candidate for cherry. The explants prepared from the shoot tips of cherry, sour cherry genotypes with Gisela 6 rootstocks as plant material were cultured in the initial stage by planting on MS nutrient medium containing 0.5 mgl-1 BAP + 0.1 mgl-1 GA3 + 0.1 mgl-1 IBA. The infection rate was between 12.03-17.87 % in cherry genotypes and 22.30-26.23 % in sour cherry genotypes. The effect of different BAP doses (0, 0.5 and 1 mgl-1) was determined in the shoot propagation stage. While increasing the number of shoots with the increase of BAP dose is determined, the maximum number of shoots was obtained from 1 mgl-1 BAP dose. The number of shoots was determined as 2.14-4.10 in cherry genotypes, 2.73-3.09 in sour cherry genotypes. The effect of different doses of IBA (0, 0.5, 1 and 2 mgl-1) on the rooting ratio of ½ MS in rooting medium was investigated. It was determined that the rooting rate increased with the increase of IBA dose, and the highest rooting rate were obtained 2 mgl-1 IBA dose in cherry and 1 mgl-1 IBA dose in sour cherry genotypes. The rooting rate was determined as 89.44-99.17 % in cherry genotypes, 76.46-96.33 % in sour cherry genotypes.
